EQ: How can making your own instrument help you understand the evolution of music?

Man made instruments with household items... Think of how mankind made instrument with what they had available in the environment. You are assigned an instrument to make.
YOUR GROUP:
Determine what category of instrument (percussion, wind) each individual will make.
Explore the sites below to find an instrument to make. Consider the materials required in making your decision.
After you print out two (2) COPIES of your instrument directions, return to a table and complete the hand out with your group. Discuss required materials and construction methods with your group.
Every member of your group will complete one instrument. Instruments will be due in class on Wednesday. Groups will work together in class the remainder of the week to compose an original musical score with your completed instruments (see rubric). Rehearsals and performances will take place next week.
Each category has SEVERAL instruments from which to chose!
